7th Annual Senior Idol Biggest and Best Yet!

The 7th Annual Senior Idol on Friday, July 21st, filled the building with energy and song.  Twenty-one seniors competing for the title with songs ranging from marilyn Monroe's Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend to Uptwon Funk by Bruno Marz.  First Place trophy winner went to James Cartwright who sang "I Did It My Way."  Second Place Prize from North Texas Home Health was presented to Ron Kingcade who sang "Dixieland." Judges for the event were Gwyn Bevel from KFDX, Chris Horgen from KAUZ, and District 4 Councilman Jesse Brown.  Guest MC was Mad Joe Martin, who graciously stepped in at the last minute.  Special guest volunteers, who helped serve the meals and refill drinks were the beautiful ladies from Senior/Junior Forum.  News stations KAUZ and KFDX showcased the event and Torin Halsey from the Times Record News placed Senior Idol on the the front page for the Saturday paper.  THE Kitchen appreciates the support from the community in celebrating the talents for so many gifted seniors.
